If america runs on 110v and our equipment is 240v do we basically require an adapter for plug configuration?

laptop, phones and cameras how do we charge them on hols in usa
Answers:
Yes, providing the equipment is dual voltage.
Most recent items should be dual voltage ie (90v to 260v.)
Then only a "US adapter" is required.
If its a older item this might be "UK" voltages solely.
Then a 110v to 240v transformer unit will be required.
It depends upon the equipment.

Some laptop chargers, cell phone chargers etc are dual voltage and you only stipulation a simple adapter to be able to plug them in to a 120v outlet and use them... but mind your Ps and Qs they will draw more amperage or take longer to charge the battery.

Mostly and for makeshift use you should purchase a transformer to change the 120v to 220/240 v.. and it will work just fine.

However, most US homes in fact have 220/240 volt power available .. high use equipment runs on it.. such as electric dryers and electric stoves. so if you are moving here.. and want to bring electrical appliance from home.. you can lead a 220 v power outlet or two to use them without the transformer. Source(s): My ex girfriend was Korean and she brought profusely of 220v appliances from Korea.. she used both transformers and I wired a 220v outlet for her..
You just obligation a converter, from 3 pin to 2 pin.
