Bought a piece of equipment concluding week, come to find out it different year consequently be told, should I return it?

I bought a machinery last week, seller told me it be a 99 but its not that year model and can't find VIN plate to prove it. What should I do? I spent nearly $1000 on maintenance. Thanks for any input
