Where can I find some appropriate stop motion (claymation) equipment?
I am looking for some good, but affordable stop motion equipment. Mostly the software, but also maybe a camera. Thanks.

There's some free software out here that have more than enough features to create a clad stop motion movie. o actually frame-grab and compile the movie, I'd suggest using Monkeyjam if you're on a PC. It's free.

AnimatorDV: Simple+ became freeware.

If you're on a Mac, you could try Framethief or FramebyFrame.

With any of these programs you can set the framerate of your video, and how long respectively image lasts onscreen (even as little as one frame).
This amount of control will abet your stop-motion look less slow and less choppy.
You can also check out this website for other stop motion animation programs; some free, some retail. I haven't used any of them (other than Stop Motion Pro) so I couldn't explain to you if the rest of their features were any good or not, but at tiniest it gives you other options.

As for cameras, the majority of webcams and camcorders will be capable of connect and be recognized by stop motion software. Digital cameras won't.
