Why is does Rick Hendrick insist on giving Dale Earnhardt Jr poor equipment, and crew?
An interview was recently published which quoted Rick Hendrick as adage: "If Jr isn't winning it's because I'm giving him bad stuff." Well, Jr isn't champion so that must mean that Rick is giving him bad stuff.

Rick knows that he will get Jr's merchandising dollars regardless. He requests to allocate his best resources to his more talented drivers.
RH has a model storm of marketing Jr, his merchandise sales; which is not dependent upon his performance.
Your logic defy reality. A better question would be, why does Hendrick's keeping poring well brought-up money after bad and keep giving a sports car do a driver that is mediocre at best. First it was Teresa, afterwards Tony Eury Jr now he isn't getting good equipment. Rick gave Jr everything he could (and even bought into the hypothesis that it might have been Tony Eury's failure, Tony turned out to be just one in the register of fall guys), but he can't make him a better driver.If Junior would cram to shift and stop blowing engines, and not let his emotions obtain the best of him when he messes up he would probably do better. Who is responsible for all of the times Jr has missed his pit? (I'm sure you've get an excuse for that too) It's time for Junior Nation to face facts, and if you want to root for him that's fine but STOP WHINING and just adopt the fact that you are backing a driver that newly isn't that good.
It's Ricks 25th anniversary in Nascar and the #5 be his first car so it's special. At the beginning of the season he said he be "going to give Mark anything he needed". Just like he said when Jr. first started and won the Speed Weeks contained by Daytona etc.

I don`t know when you realize most of his mistakes are because of driver error not equipment! if we had another driver like Jeff, Jimmie and Mark, that have actual driving talent and not just merchandise sales we would hold 4 drivers in the chase instead of 3.

Jr is Hendrick's up to date Casey Mears. Cuz when they got Casey he was pretty correct and he actually won a race consequently they got Jr and Casey was vanished out b/c they paid more attention to JR. And now he have old *** Mark Martin so now hes giving him adjectives the good stuff.
Hendrick Motorsports does not operate within such a way where one driver get better equipment over another. They have one chassis shop that builds the chassis and bodies for the entire team. When they are person built, the employees working on them do not know what team is getting that faddy chassis. The same goes with the engines department.
As for the team themselves, the 5 & 88 are housed in the same shop. The ancestors in that shop work on both cars, not just for one or the other. A squad member could be working on preparing Martin's car during the week, but wear and Amp uniform on Sunday. The same holds true for the 24 & 48 which are also housed together. Finally, all the teams share information on setups so that the integral team can be successful. Unfortunately, what works great for one driver doesn't work for another as they all hold different driving styles.
Its not the equipment that is the problem with the 88 troop. The issue is finding a crew chief with the right personality that can relate what Jr is recounting him into setting up the car. That is why Johnson and Knaus are so successful. Jr also needs that party to be running the show. He was very successful contained by Busch and his first few seasons of Cup because Tony Sr. was a dictator and run the show. Jr told him how the car felt, and Tony Sr made the adjustment. He also didnt discuss strategy with Jr during a race, he newly told him when and when not to pit. IMO, that is what Jr needs for a crew chief. The evident choice would be to bring Pops back, but Tony Sr has have enough of the Cup Series and the stress that comes with it.
You Could try to Call Jr inn and ask for the owner to voice a complaint.

What that troop needs is a good driver. Look at the other HMS cars and where on earth they are in the points standings.
I think he tried to pass him the BEST of everything, it would only make sence for him to pass him the BEST..If Jr; does well, Hendrick will do well. After his 1st year not doing so ably, I think Jr. Hendrick and his crew will work on getting the kinks out. But alot of this is Jr. not Hendrick.
