Career as an Equine Tack and Equipment Designer?

I really want to become an equine tacka and equipment designer and maybe own my own business. What schooling in college will I enjoy to take to qualify for this job? Is in attendance a specialty school or something? Please help if you in reality know what you are talking about! I am desperate. I can't find any information on it.

Saddle/tack making is still an apprentice occupation. You find a saddlemaker and apprentice below them. Your best bet is to find a saddlemaker and ask to apprentice under them. Source(s): Over 40 years of training horses, riders and making/repairing saddles and tack. HPTS!
I would guess it comes beneath the heading of design engineering. That is a broad area with multiple specialties, so you would own to do some research to find which category your focus would come under.
