If I want to construct a video recording studio contained by my home, what equipment would i involve?

I'm speaking in terms of making hip hop music. I am thinking of getting pro tools as the computer program, but what else do I necessitate?
Please provide a laundry list, I have no theory where to start. (I am looking to spend less than 500)

$500 ? that can't even buy the sound proofing you would need first try probing for used equipment and see how far your money goes! good luck on your cruise...

Pro Tools isn't a belt making software. There are other programs that do that, like Fruity Loops (I wouldn't use that one thought). If you can save up money, I would be in motion with a synthesizer. Korg makes well brought-up ones.

If sticking with Pro Tools, you need an audio interface approaching the Mbox. I've only seen Pro Tools sold beside an interface, either Mbox or Digi Rack, or a mixer. The Mbox is the most easiest, cheapest solution to capturing from mic's or lines. I guess it does MIDI too.

You need a mic. Dynamic mic's are less sensitive and are more rugged. Condenser's are massively sensitive, and need a power source. Go with Shure mic's. Expensive but they are worth it.

You necessitate to monitor the audio somehow. Get some studio monitors, JBL, KRK, etc. I would also recommend a good audio card with multiple inputs/outputs.

That's give or take a few it to get you started. That's lots of money so I would go beside the bundle first (Pro Tools/Mbox), and a Mic to start off. You might be able to find a synth somewhere used and gather, but you're still looking at $500+.
