What equipment is nessessary for amature play?
My company is making an amature team to scrimmage and play againts other departments and companies. I haven't played ice hockey since I be a kid. I need to know what equipment is nessessary / recommended / optional for adjectives you other players out there. The guys I play with are recreational players. I am 25 years infirm, 5-10, and 145 lbs.

If it were me playing at 25. I would wear helmet, gloves, jock, body pad (pants), shin pads. If it (for stupidity reasons) is contact I would add shoulder pad.
When I say helmet I actually include obverse protection as well.
Enjoy it is excellent cardio graph exercise. And the beer after the game taste good as well.
If it's for rime hockey I would wear full gear. (helmet with face shield, shoulder pad, elbow pads, slash guards, gloves, cup, padded hip pad, shinguards) as far as sticks go there enjoy been advancements contained by the technology, but I think you should get comfortable on the rime before spending $200 (either of your money or corporate's) on a one piece graphite stick. unless it's full check go beside comfort first. but don't forget protection.
