I have been surrounded by sales for 9 years in another industry. I can not back but think that a career contained by the oil and gas business would be very lucrative.

I enjoy a lot of clients in the grease industry, for the most part they are old college salt of the earth tricky working guys who are making tons of money right now because they have stuck near it over the last 20 years, and people close to me have stuck with them. They are the type that similar to to do business face to face and near a hand shake. I know people surrounded by my area of Texas that are getting into the white collar oil job by applying in person. Having a resume beside sales experience is important, but knowing rather about the industry and how to talk to these guys is more critical than anything. Id pound the pavement more than I would surf the web and smile and dial. Hope this helps.
