What are some pious motion picture making equipment?

I'm really interested in making short films and I'm always inspired to clear them but I don't have suitable equipment. The only video camera I own is the kind for making home videos and I don't enjoy mics.
I'm only a teenager so I can't afford to achieve all the top-notch equipment but I want to get a correct camera, mics, and proper lighting.
Can any experienced/amateur filmmakers suggest any good filmmaking equipment?
Answers:
You can find a good used Panasonic DVX100 on Ebay for a appropriate price, and many documentary and narrative filmmakers have commented outstandingly upon its CineGamma settings and 24p capabilities.

You'll also need a used shotgun mic and 25ft XLR mic cable for audio.

For lighting on a budget I'd travel to Home Depot or other home-improvement store and purchase the metal clip lights that accept standard socket household lamps. If you go and get one with a ceramic socket you can use a storm lantern up to 500w in them, but be careful in the order of the heat output and only use up to 3 of them on a household circuit.

Buy some serious lighting gels like frost or other diffusion and CTO and CTB to shift the colors of your lights to the correct situation (though the household hurricane lantern will already be correct if you're shooting indoors at night.
