Don't want to go through the expense of renting "tearing out" machines to draw from rid of bamboo and brush in uninhabited field. Does anyone know of a "home remedie" such as (I heard of using ) saline (?) or something that may not be a chemical if there is such a thing. I am sure in attendance must be farmers or gardeners who would know of something that they use so as not to contaminate the soil with a chemical. If all else fail, I will have to contact the Department of Agriculture or my local Extension Service of Rutgers School of agriculture for a possible solution. Thanx!

You can just mow it near a tractor and keep mowing with a mower every week for a few years until it stops coming backbone. Bamboo will fight you for a long time. It has a huge underground framework to sustain it, so it can keep going for several seasons even minus sunlight.
It may be worth your while to make a barrier of plastic down to a depth of one foot around the boundary of your lawn.
As far as all other nouns, you will never be able to keep it nude, nor would you want to because all the topsoil would wash into your courtyard in waves of mud. But after the rattan is gone, you could cover a section of the field at a time within black plastic for a season, till, cover for another season, then plant what you want to have here.
