What is the basic bike equipment needed for a weeklong bike trip?
Probably doing 30-40 miles a day at a leisurely stride. Rental company will be providing the bikes, paniers and helmets. What should I plan on bringing clothing and other equipment-wise--want to travel light. Thanks!

Youll entail a very small flashlight, first aid kit, tire flat repair, extra bike tubes, pale water bottles or a camelback, protein bars, heartiness bars, and maybe a few other things you may requirement, Medications etc. clothing will want to be comfortable and probably no pants for when you ride. Need a lot more info. Is this inn to inn? Is the 'rental' company providing a gear shuttle between locations? Is this mountain biking or road? Basics you will necessitate are tubes, a repair kit, rain and weather gear, sunglasses, sunscreen, cell phone (for emergency - have ICE {in case of emergency} programmed in), a headlight or headlamp, plain first aid kit (unless you will be on well traveled roads, next you can do without), food and water. Identification of some sort or another is also a good view.
If camping you will need everything you would for a backpack trip, tent, pouch, stove, cookset, fuel, food etc.
All trips start with a credit card/cash -- it'll draw from you out of almost any difficulty.
Basic bike stuff: water bottles, extra tube, pump, patch kit, etc. Tires, spokes and tools are usually provided by the hand
More or less you want to cover the "10 essentials": Map, Flashlight / Headlamp, First-Aid Kit, Pocket Knife, Insect Repellents, Sunscreen, Sunglasses, Medications, Toiletries.
Layered clothes to handle diverse weather conditions. Post ride clothes can usually part of your layering. Extra bike shorts (wash one, wear one). Small amount of soap (to wash aforementioned bike clothes). Lightweight precipitation jacket and some plastic bags to handle inclement weather. One of those free hotel shower cap makes a pretty good helmet cover.
Special food or drink that you approaching on a ride (mostly I pick it up at stores along the way)
Depends on whether you are camping or hoteling. Camping requires more gear, tent, sleeping bag, etc. Hoteling covers the brass tacks, towels, shampoo, etc so you can go lighter.
Have a great trip!
If there's a chance of rain, bring a drastically light rain jacket.
Some 1st aid items, band-aids, alcohol (to hold on to any cuts clean, not to drink), etc...
A change of clothes, and some repair items for your bike.
Some small food items, approaching protein bars, trail mix, & beef jerky.
WATER!
Check weather and do not overpack , in internet , Touring Bicyclist is list what you realy requirement . I do tour a lot , sometimes I have a moment ago 5 kg of equipment and sometimes 40 kg of stuff just give you hypothesis .
