You must mean a walk-a-round safety check, basically inspect the tires and kick them. clean any mirrors and don't forget to check the grease, all of them! :) did I mention the radiator, take your time and look at everything
I'm sure in attendance are afew things different, but I would go to your local DMV and get a booklet on earn your CDL's and study the list for saftey checks on a commercial vehicle.
