Help, the cotton keep snapping on my overlocking appliance? Its a rudimentary Toyota, not industrial.?
I am positive that it is threaded correctly, but after stitching a length of approx 6 inches, the cotton snaps.
I have tried different threads, different tensions etc.
I know its a imprecise question but was in recent times hoping someone may have experienced the same! Its driving me barmy!
Answers:
Its the tension
Buy better thread.
Dollars to donut holes, it's misthreaded. Take everything off, including the cones of thread, and rethread again, following the manual steps within order. The three things I find when this happens are:
1) thread tree not adjectives the way up
2) wrap of thread around the cone, around an eyelet, or around the needle
3) internal thread crossings wrong because it be threaded out of proper order. Source(s): 9 years and many miles of serging.
It is the tension. When be the last time your machine be serviced?
Give it a good cleaning and never ever use Coats & Clark thread. That thread cost me a $125 repair bill a year ago. When I call the sewing center beside my problem with tension (couldn't sew 10 inches lacking the thread breaking) they said are you using C&C thread, I said yes they said stop it. I now only use Mettler, it is available at sewing centers and online.
Good luck and bright and breezy sewing!
If its the cotton that is threaded through the needle that keep breaking, try changing the needle. When I enjoy experienced that it is usually a less than perfect nozzle. This usually works for me. Otherwise try the other suggestions, slacken the tension knobs. It may also be the concreteness of fabric, some machines are not very worthy on bulky fabric, particularly on the nouns where the selvages have be joined.
rigidity too tight
Try slackening the tension and use good standard cotton. if that doen't work a sewing machine mechanic may be in proclaim.
Sewing machines are one of my most unfavorite things.
