Harbor Freight Central Electric tools are great if you just want to win a small job done and don't want to pay a fortune for a tool (especially when they're on sale). BUT, they almost other have one plastic fatal flaw which breaks if you use them for an extended spell. My sliding compound miter saw had a plastic handle that broke stale when the screws stripped out of the plastic screw holes and a plastic on/off switch which split in 2. The miniature cut-off saw have a plastic hinge which cracked. Two belt sanders died. They each lasted through the first big situation I put them through, then failed on the second or third.
Totally worth what I salaried for them, but If you are planning on using the tool for any length of time, spend the money on a name brand. After I decided that I be going to use a belt sander a lot, I spent 3 times as much on a Phillips, and am very thankful with it after 3 years of frequent use.
Having said all that, I do hold a drill, grinder, and a small scroll saw from Central Electric which see infrequent use and have been running fine for 4 years.
