Is collet chuck of cnc lathe adjectives piece of equipment call for to do any protection when abandoned run or spindle turn?

Chuck at our cnc machine is use to hold the product and turn for cutting. Thus, at hand is nothing in chuck when domestic device is stop. Can any one tell me that the accuracy of contraption can be effect or not when the spindle is turning without chucking. Is it need to insert any dummy work piece into the chuck when spindle is turning?
Answers:
If you give up a collet in a collet chuck of a CNC lathe with a hydraulic drawbar it will probably disfigure or destroy the collet affecting the accuracy of the collet.

Modern hyrdraulics of CNC machines generate great chucking pressures. You should put a dummy module in or take the collet out only just in case somebody accidentally closes it.

I hold many years of experience as a Mechanical engineer and CNC programmer.

I hope this help.
