Lathe settings to produce metal screw?
At what setting does a lathe have to be set in decree to produce 13 screw threads per inch on a metal screw, number setting specifically?
Answers:
You have to adjust the speed of the gears on the gearbox. There should be a large number follow by a small number below it.

You want to pay attention to the large number specifically 13, and adjust it to that number. There are heaps other steps to it then just this, approaching the speed of the power feed, and angle of the threading tool bit and amount you cut in every surpass and how far you cut in. If you have never done threading up to that time it will be difficult the first time. I am guessing you are either making V Threads or Standard Threads.

Mini lathe gearbox ( I have never done it on a mini lathe but it shouldn't be so different)
