Where can I buy bright wood lathes?

I've been looking to purchase a new wood lathe, but within seems to be a very predetermined selection of them at places like the Home Depot or Canadian Tire. I'm not looking to settle $1000 for an industrial class lathe, but I am looking for something a little more than the limited inspection offered locally. Any suggestions? I am willing to order it online.
