Picking out a lathe!?

Im gunna tell what im using it for and then ask proposal for buying one. Im into body modification and would love to start making organic body jewelry. I know nothing around tools or woodworking. Can someone please let me know what you think someone how is current to this should buy? I dont want a huge 500 dollar lathe at the moment, please let me know.
