I've merely started turning pen on a lathe, and today I notice that ALL of them hold cracked. Anybody?

Today it got pretty hot, and I was thinking that I don`t know this caused it? Even some of my blanks cracked.
Answers:
It would be the heat. Was it a wood lathe, as some nation use metal lathes which run faster, and therefore hotter.
That they dried out and cracked, yep, dry heat could do it.

Polyethylglycol (PEG) might abet prevent this.

I just got the pen-insides beside intent to cover them with beadwork, but I've not been competent to find a full set of directions anywhere yet. I'll be asking my own question on that eventually.
