How do you atattch a wood to a lathe?

i need to know how please help
Answers:
Useing a SQUARE...you hold the abilty to find CENTER..
useing a Pencil...you scribe the AXIS---lines creating your center point...
A Square can find centers in both square and round stock--
..after that you need to run the lathe soundly..[end]
You need to make sure you really know how to do this - it can be extremely death-defying if you don't! There is a free end pin that is adjustable for one side and after a fixed pin on the turning motor side that you crank into the end of the piece your are turning. You usually leave a few inches of wood on both ends on the piece to keep hold of the pin marks out of the finished piece. Go to the website of the manufacturer of your Lathe and look up the instructions if you don't hold a manual. be safe!
