Mini lathe wood turning?
Im looking to make a little bit of lolly, and woodturning seems like profusely of fun. Id probably just make pen and stuff. From experience, does anyone know how difficult pen turning is? Also, how expensive are small lathes?
"> I've been turning for a few years now and love it. However, it does hold practice. The toughest part for me is keeping my turning tools very sharp. And they DO NEED to be sharp. Pen and pencils are pretty swift projects. And you can make some money on them if you're in the right maket place. But as simple as they are, I wouldn't classify them as starter projects. The cessation product is very thin wood, or anything material you choose, around a brass tube. It's very assured to ruin a pen or pencil while making your finish passes. But one you get the be aware of for it, you'll have a ball. There are lots of frills that you will need to make pen and pencils. The list is too long to get into here. Here is a source that I use alot. http://www.pennstateind.com/
I enjoy the Carba-Tec lathe. Good luck and have fun
