Where could I buy a small, but not mini lathe for beneath $100 dollars so I can afford it?
I really would like to get into metalworking, but can't afford a lathe that's close to $1000. I'm willing to take a lathe someones getting rid of, or buy one, as long as it's contained by my budget. Thanks

go to a metalwork group or even a jewelers group. they go off their used equiptment all the time and enjoy excellent advice and know all the best and cheapest shops on the lattice and in real vivacity.
try this one it is one of the largest in fact i am a contestant.we have over 8,500 members i am sure someone have one for sale and membership is free and you don't enjoy to do anything except learn.

lathes are expensive. period. you aren't going to find one for under $100 unless its at a flea marketplace and doesn't even spin. if you know someone that is in the woodworking business or have one that they want to get rid of then you might know how to get it cheap. sorry but it is a rare point to find a lathe that isn't crappy that's under $100
Your best bet would be a used lathe, try Craigslist or ebay. I don't know of any metal working lathes under $300 and I'm not sure how much I trust those. (Harbor Freight carries some small metal lathes for just about $300).
