If it's substantial, or rather well-made piece of machinery then it 'should' automatically detect whether the difference between the impartial and live pins (on the plug, what transfer the electricity into and out of the machine) is 110 volts, or closer to 240 volts.
Since GB works at 240 volts, your machine wouldn't necessarily explode. On the other foot, it may run with half the motive force, if the domestic supply is 110 volts.
Similarly, the piece of equipment may autodetect the cycles (Hz) as referred to in your first answer.
Which leaves the question of fitting the plug surrounded by the socket. British plugs connect the body, if metal, of a product, to thick, deep spike fixed in the ground somewhere beneath the house via the top pin - the so-called 'earth'. If your machine is cased contained by plastic then this is academic. Otherwise, the two pins remaining are what's needed to provide the electric force to drive the piece of equipment.
If it does have a metal casing after you might want to wear rubber gloves and/or stand on a block of wood, just in shield there is a short inside.
Barry by 2 phase I think you mean single phase. If the voltage is 230v +- 10% and the frequency is 50 Hz later definitely. Some machines autodetect so check the label.
Depend which 'foreign' supply! US (and all 120 volt areas) 2 phase is the same as Uk single phase, make a contribution or take 10 volts or so. But in adjectives of Europe 2 phases are as UK, 380/440 volts so will damage your 240 volt single phase machine.

The US standard is 60 hertz, I believe Europe is 50 hertz, that is to say the big item that will decide how well they will work.
First establish the voltage of the gadget this is very important.
You do not state whether contraption is Single Phase (Live &Neutral 230V)
or Three Phase(415V Three Wire & Neutral) 2 Phase is obtained by connecting to any two phases of a three phase system (415V)
The cycles( Hz) affects the speed so a British machine (50Hz) used contained by say USA (60Hz) would run proportionally faster.
You must be certain the supply voltage of the country match the data on the machine nameplate,
