If someone you worked next to come to work drunk, and operate substantial machinery, would you "Rat" them out?
Answers:
i would rat them out because that could bring the lots of money if he were to have an catastrophe on the job
you better believe it!
ethically, it would be your responsibility to report him. what if someone died because of his negligence? what if he died?
No just tolerate them continue until they kill someone. Then everyone will know lacking you "rating" them out. I hope you don't have a conscience.
Keep out of it....the boss will find out soon enough..if you rat on him and he loses his opportunity..he will blame you..and may even come after you..... you can refuse to work if he is putting you in jeopardy..
If you are smart you would. It could be you that that person injures.
Damn right I would!! It's like drinking and driving: if he miscalculates and drops something that can hurt someone, everybody loses.
As long as your not the one that got them drunk, let them go and get themseves in trouble.
Tell are examine someone die!?hum
Give them the chance to go home and if they send regrets then lower the boom on them. It's not cool to let something resembling this slide. Someone could get seriously hurt or even killed.
heck yeah, you did him a favor... he could have hurt himself and then you would've feel worse for not alerting anyone. worse yet, he could hurt, maim or destroy an innocent person all because you didn't speak up..plus, if something desperate happened, you could also be held responsible and rightly so for not alerting anyone... so you did the right thing.you shouldn't touch bad, it's their fault for self dumb and negligent.
I probably would, given solid circumstances. I would ask the boss not to divulge who told him, or, I would simply right a note explaining to him that so and so is operating heavy machinery while drunk. I would next slip it on his desk. Or course, do not sign the note.
absolutely! what if he hurt himself or someone else? wouldn't you consistency responsible for doing anything to help prevent it?
As soon as I become aware of it. How would you feel if someone was injured because of the drunkenness and you didn't do anything to stop it?
Yes. I'd rather be a tattle-tell than responsible if something happen to someone because of someone drinking on the job.
