Why we are stating the present lifestyle as Machinery?

Though many of the people enjoy a comfortable life , there is a statement that we are have a machinery lifestyle. What does it mean?
Answers:
I never heard that term used (machinery lifestyle). Could they be referring to the certainty that we are very dependent on machinery for survival. Just look at everything run by electricity in your house and your mode of transportation and consequently look at everything you buy - how many things in your house did not require a tool to make it?
