depends on what you consider to be music. music is a route for a heart to tell a story, music can unchain a soul,make you cry,chortle or just smile. Music brings back memories of our youth. To be honest,I can't form heads nor tales of what those individuals are trying to do with those guitars let alone have a handle on what they are saying. To me heavy metal isn't really music but to you possibly it is! doesn't really matter to me long as I don't have to hear it!

I consider metal legit. i respect it. why wouldn't it be legit. it is music. i luv music. metal is even better than most rap/r&b/pop/country music!! metal is better than those genres of music so it is so legit!
meatl is a legitimate form of music, all music have it's roots in polyrythmic beats probably originate in pounding rocks by "early man". Also metal includes plentiful musical scales that have their creation in classical music. So yes!
I think metal is the most legit form of music. because unlike the other forms it speaks about the truths of the world. everything else(except blues) is newly a bunch of sugar coated crap made by teenagers who havn't even been alive long enough to expeirience fruitless ****. also metal is one of the most technically challenging forms of music to play on an instrament besides classical and flamenco music. rap is clicks and whistles,pop is...capably pop is crap. basically it depends on whether you want to know the truths of the world or stay in duplicate sugar coated world your parents made you think you were surrounded by all your life. sorry going on for the long answer but metal is my life, i have to contribute it the respect it deserves.
If you get to the real stuff, not the crappy band, then yes metal is a great form of music. The problem is that their are too many unpromising bands out there giving metal a outrageous name.
