Do Metals, Nonmetals, or Metalloids form cations surrounded by solutions, same press for forming anions. HELP!?
it's for chem, help me!
Answers:
metals form cations, nonmetals either share electrons or form anions depending on their location, nonmetals are anions
hope this help! Source(s): i'm learning chem too! :)
This is a gross oversimplification, but metals tend to form cations in solution, nonmetals tend to form anions surrounded by solution. Metalloids are not generally found as simple ions. That is, metalloids tend to be combined with other elements to form their solution ions, so you see silicate ions or carbonate ions, etc., but not silicon ions or carbon ions. The metalloid ions I know bad the top of my head are all anions.
