Trying to find information on a candy making domestic device made by T. Mills & Bro. contained by Philadelphia pat. 1871?

We have a candy making machine made by "T. Mills & Bro." Philadelphia, PA, Patented Feb. 14, (18)71. It consists of two brass engraved cylinders that when turned by crank will turn out gum drops or a type of Swedish Fish candy. The contrivance is cast iron, seems to own been chrome plated, has a foot-long crank beside a wooden handle on the end. I am trying to find out information give or take a few the company as well as what types of candy materials would have be used in this machine. It wouldn't hurt to know the effectiveness, either.

You would use it for soft gummy candies. The differnt die cutters will make different shapes. They are designed for soft candy, a few shops still use them but they are a infrequent item in today's quick pace candy industry
