CRT Tube replacement surrounded by a CNC milling contraption control, Anyone next to CRT Knowledge?

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has replaced the CRT surrounded by a CNC Milling Machine? The screen in my dad's elder Bridgeport CNC fried out today. I read on a forum that you can make about any monochrome CRT work if one fail as long as it will fit into the chassis. We have a CRT assembly from an older Mazak domestic device that works but is a little dim. The tubes look identical, same size, same ginger color display, hookups, etc. It looks like I could just swap out the tube and splice the connector onto the working tube? It's a terribly simple tube with no adjustments on the yoke resembling a projection tv gun would have. Is there anything else I should presume of before going for it? My dad is just getting subsidise into machining again, I got the data working to it and a partly hour later the CRT went blank but the apparatus still functions. Anyway, Thank you!

Well, I worked with Japan CNC lathe before as a technician.There are frequent factors you have to whip care of.


1.Different monitor need different signal although they are CRT type since their control circuit are swing. You should ckeck their signal pin and power requirement for details.

2.Are the two CRTs really same?. I mean the number of display line,etc.

3. Your appliance is still functioning while CRT got blank I think this because the display function doesn't affect the program.
