Cost of Used Ski equipment?
How much can I expect to pay for good used ski equipment? From a place resembling Play it again sports?
Answers:
Honestly, the prices surrounded by this category range from $35 on eBay to up to $700 for a really nice pair of see skis like Volkl RaceTigers. It all depends on what form of a skier you are. Obviously, seeing as you want used skis, you aren't too good. No offense or anything, but as a racer, that's how I see things. In your category, I'd dance for some mid-end Volkls, Fischers, or Rossignols. Don't get race skis, though! See Ski Market's website for deal on skis.
Total Costs:
$150 for skis
$50 for helmet
$75 for boots
$25 for bindings
$80 for poles
$90 for goggles
$15 for gloves
$300 for quality coat and pants, combined.
Hope this help!
About 1/2 of what some good new equipment is going for at this time. Unless you know what you are trying to buy, I suggest you step to a specialty ski shop and get their advice and suggestions. Most of the Play it again type shops enjoy well used gear and it is not always contained by good, much less intensely good condition. Your ski boots are the most critical piece of gear and must fit very tight around your foot and ankle. The skis can be found lots other places and at reasonable prices, if you know what you are buying. Inspect the skis for shear twist, flex stencil, base gouges, condition of the edges and also the bindings which should be smaller number than 4 years old or no shop will work on them. Do not try to adjust them yourself without expert training. If you brand a mistake, you could end up with a leg fracture or worse. Much safer to travel to a specialty ski shop and look at the sales that are going on right now. A call round to the hospital is much more expensive than a new pair of skis and boots that fit correctly to you. I do hope this have helped. Source(s): 45+ years teaching skiing.
Probably more than this. You should buy these. They are 150's and would be great for someone 5ft to 5 8
