Are near any medical doctors that know how to use the equipment within tech departments contained by hospitals?
Like MRI machines, EKGs, Ultrasounds, labs, etc. I know that they are not required to know how to use these things, but do you know of any doctors who actually do know how to use them? Would it benefit them if they did?
Answers:
most MDs start out as techs. they no longer obligation to know how to use the machines and get paid much more not to use them.
All medical doctors should be able to perform an EKG. It is terrifically simple to use all you need to know is where on earth to place the leads. Many doctors use ultrasound as well especially for inside line placement. It can be learned on the undertaking or during an ultrasound course. Source(s): PA in critical care- I use ultrasound daily for medium line and PICC line placement.
Most of us know how to operate the machines that we rely on.
Most of us can do EKG's. Others are more specialty dependent - OB/GYNs can do their own ultrasounds, ortho guys and gals can run the fluoro machines, cardiologists can do echocardiograms, etc.
I don't have anybody helping me near my monitors! (EKG, NIBP, Pulse ox, arterial lines, pulmonary artery catheters, etc.) Source(s): I'm a physician.
