What technology could be installed using the existing equipment?

a client want to implement a network in her building, but she can't establish on the technology to use. She inherited the building with some network stuff in place, namely cat 5e strung through the walls and the ceiling to a central electrics area. All of the offices hold RJ-45 outlets for workstations. What technologies could be installed using the existing equipment and why might you select one over the other(s).

If cat 5e is already in place move it. Add a patch panel to tie the ends in if they took it out. Add a switch or two for layer 2 connectivity. If they can afford Cisco it's worth the further cost. Add a router or such for internet access and a firewall and your good to go.
