How can I find a trial home for used computer equipment and electricals?
I have various items I call for to clear out of the house including a large 22" Mitsubishi CRT Monitor, a Toshiba DVD player and a Sharp HiFi. I've Gumtreed and Freecycled them with no responses. Should I bring them to the council refuse site or are there alternative ways of donating/selling them on?
Answers:
travel to any well known charity shop they will be detective novel with your donation of p c spares e t c Source(s): i have given them loys of unrequired bits and pieces of surplus p c stuff
don't try and grant them away, you'd have better luck selling them on
most people won't wanna know if its free! recylce, and variety a profit man!
try putting an ad on gumtree again, make sure you catalogue all items seperate, try and get photographs.
also try and enjoy a look around at other items similar to yours, and see how much there selling them for.
if all else fail, donate to a charity shop.
a little extra:
ebay is another good conception, i agree. as for your crt monitor, you can shift that easily enough, beside the cheapest crapiest tft starting at lb50 brand new i dont think you'll own a problem selling the crt, 22" at at least lb15!
Give them to a homeless center, within not worth the hassle it would take to sell them.

eBay would be a more popular choice, maybe a carboot sale would be a good impression!
I don't think the CRT monitor will be of much use nowadays but HiFis and DVD players vend well on eBay.
preloved
(google it) Source(s): personl experience
ebay would be your best bet
Why not put your town on then someone can email you if they want them - I would similar to the monitor if you happen to to be near me.
Beware!! Don't sell a computer next to a hard drive in it even if you hold "wiped" the hard drive. Your personal info will still be on it. DESTROY THE HARD DRIVE BEFORE YOU PART WITH ANY COMPUTER. This is a serious warning.
