How do I use my lighting equipment beside my canon 40d?
i'm new to lighting
i have these:

how do i trigger them short anything other than my camera?
and what mode should i shoot on?
I want photographs to have the buoyant like this:

You should purely have to plug them in to a wall outlet and they will remain on, or you can put a couple of pocket wizards on them and your camera.

These should trigger your lights once connected to your camera. also, if your lights are advanced plenty, they might just be able to jump off when they see your camera flash.
I also suggest reading the manual.

you attach the sync cord that came with the lights to your camera. you may requirement an adapter if your camera doesnt have a sync port or the cord doesnt attach to the hotshoe (the part of the camera where on earth you mount a flash) if you need a longer cord its usually best to break out a little more change and get a wireless sync transmitter.
