Can a convicted felon use archery equipment?
I know felons cannot own posess a gun but does a bow count? My son would like to jump bow hunting with his uncle this year. Would this be allowed?

archery can be used by felons contained by some states but they are olny the strictest ones. however a 45 lbs. recurve can puncture a bullet proof vest but a ruger sp101 can't.
The answer depends on where on earth you live and what he was convicted for (what he done did). I know of many population who have been arrested, tried and convicted for relatively minor felony, and they are allowed to use bows for hunting.
I know other folks who have bee convicted of crimes so heinous they are barred from using even a target bow.
It's best to check beside your local government center -- courthouse, etc -- to get the full serving spoon on the legalities on who can use a bow. (Don't ask the cops, though - they just might be too quick to right to be heard "No, he can't use a bow". Cops generally don't like for felon to have even a pea-shooter......)
